Transverse Microradiography Evidence on the Effect of Phosphoryl Oligosaccharides of Calcium (POs-Ca) in Toothpaste on Decalcified Enamel

In the current study, we sought to evaluate effects of phosphoryl-oligosaccharides calcium (POs-Ca) and/or fluoride-containing toothpaste on enamel. Six groups experimental were prepared by adding various concentrations POs-Ca fluoride. A 5 × 10-mm window enamel bovine incisor was immersed in resin and divided into three areas for “sound”, “demineralized (DEM)”, “after pH cycle (aft. cycle)”. All specimens subjected cycling, including soaking a slurry with diluted threefold min. Transverse microradiography employed mineral recovery, values each demineralization solution measured. The high fluoride concentration group showed significantly better recovery rate than others, no statistical differences between before after cycling among low fluoride, only, control groups. low-concentration groups, containing tended have higher remineralization effect non-POs-Ca group. After changes any addition may recover density subsurface lesions at low-fluoride concentrations, but high-fluoride did not show meaningful difference two without POs-Ca.
